E*Cinema: LICHT VAL - 18 januari
In de maandelijkse serie E*Cinema besteedt EYE Film Instituut Nederland aandacht aan de historische én hedendaagse experimentele film. Deze maand is het programma LICHT VAL samengesteld. LICHT VAL laat zien wat filmmakers doen met uiteenlopende lichtbronnen. Licht en schaduw krijgen volume in de moderne klassiekers van kunstenaars als Norman McLaren, Ernie Gehr, afgewisseld met recente experimentele films van Peter Tscherkassky, Jérôme Schlomoff en Joost Rekveld. Aansluitend om 21.15 voert Optical Machines de performance (SHIFT) uit, waarin platenspelers, bewegende lampjes en zelfgemaakte synthesizers lichtpatronen en abstracte animaties genereren.
Met inleiding van Simona Monizza. Collectiespecialist experimentele film van EYE Film Instituut Nederland. De voertaal is Engels.

E*Cinema? E*Cinema vindt vanaf januari 2011 wederom plaats op elke derde dinsdag van de maand, behalve in mei vindt het programma eenmalig plaats op zondag. EYE organiseert met E*Cinema een maandelijkse serie met historische en zeer recente experimentele films uit binnen- en buitenland. In de serie E*Cinema zijn vaak bijzondere programma’s te zien waarin de filmmaker centraal staat of de relatie tussen film en andere kunstvormen wordt onderzocht.
EYE? Per 1 januari 2010 zijn het Filmmuseum, het Nederlands Instituut voor Filmeducatie, de Filmbank en Holland Film gefuseerd tot EYE Film Instituut Nederland.

E*Cinema 18 January – LIGHT FALL
The EYE Film Institute Netherlands focuses on historical and contemporary experimental film in the monthly E*Cinema series. The programme this month is LIGHT FALL. LIGHT FALL shows what filmmakers can do with diverse sources of light. Light and shadow acquire volume in the modern classics by artists like Norman McLaren and Ernie Gehr, alternated with recent experimental films by Peter Tscherkassky, Jérôme Schlomoff and Joost Rekveld. After the films, at 9.15 pm Optical Machines will give a performance (SHIFT). Record players, small moving lamps and home-made synthesizers generate light patterns and abstract animations.
With an introduction in English by Simona Monizza, Collection specialist experimental films of EYE Film Institute Netherlands.

E*Cinema? From January 2011 E*Cinema will be held every third Tuesday of the month with the exception of May, when the programme will be on Sunday 22 May. E*Cinema is a monthly series, organized by EYE, of historical and extremely recent experimental films from the Netherlands and abroad. The series often includes special programmes which focus on the filmmaker or study the relation between film and other art forms.
EYE? On 1 January 2010 the Filmmuseum, the Dutch Institute for Film Education, the Filmbank and Holland Film merged to form the EYE Film Institute Netherlands.
